Hallie is an active and energetic girl who is hooked on bread-making. Influenced by her personality, Hallie enjoys activity teaching methods in which she is more involved. For passive activities, she finds story telling acceptable but not reading books or flash cards. She started learning to write, Chinese and English words and numbers recently. Also, she is required to complete penmanship exercisers every day.
Dislike being criticized
At the beginning, the words written weren’t tidy and neat and she failed to spot the differences between good and badly written words. I would erase the erroneous or poorly-written words and instruct her to rewrite. But she was not willing to accept criticism or write them again. Sometimes she even got angry. After some practice, she can now distinguish which word is properly written. But still, she is not happy when the words are wiped off.
Hallie prefers doing her assignments with company as more interactions are involved. But when I help my daughter to do homework, I check that the stroke order is correct. If not, I erase the words written and she sulks whenever she needs to rewrite. In addition, I need to work and can’t always spare time to watch her doing her homework. She finds it more intolerable when I check her handwriting after I finish work.
In love with digital writing exercise
Hallie can write according to the path shown by the arrows. This exercise is interesting and fun, and a single word can be practiced several times. I appreciate the stamp incentives best. If the words are not properly written, the stamps will be hilarious. Hallie is capable of writing visually appealing characters, but she is always rushing to go to play and so she is not careful when she is doing her homework. Now that she is learning that she will receive less attractive stamps for poor handwriting, she is trying her best to write each character diligently. Also, it is inevitable for children to write stokes that are too long or too short. The digital writing exercise will erase that stroke until she writes it correctly. These functions are useful in assisting writing learners. Effective study is also possible as children are more willing to learn with this app.
